Limited Warranty

All generator products purchased through us are intended for standby and not continuous use. Warranted period shall be indicated at the time of purchase by either us and/or the Manufacturer. The products are warranted to be free from defect in material and workmanship under normal use and service during the warranty period. You will be required to show proof of service and maintenance in order to qualify for warranty coverage.

In order for the warranty to be activated the C.O.C. certificate (from the installation electrician) is required as well as the signed Warranty Form (delivered with the generator) to be returned to: Ferreira Bros P O Box 1173, Mulbarton, 2059, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

Warranty coverage is for the original retail purchaser and non-transferable. We will repair or replace, at our option, any part that is proved to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use during the applicable warranty period.

Warranty repairs and replacements will be made without charge for parts or labour. Anything replaced under warranty becomes the property of ours and or must be returned to us. All parts replaced under warranty will be considered as part of the original product and warranty on those parts will expire coincident with the original product warranty.

Note: The serial number of your generator must be submitted with all warranty claims.

Exclusions to this Warranty

This warranty does not extend to parts affected by accident and/or collision, corrosion or rust, normal wear, wrong fuel type or fuel contamination, use in an application for which the product was not designed, unauthorized service, or any other misuse, neglect, incorporation or use of unsuitable attachments or parts. Unauthorized alteration, installation or any cause other than defects in material or workmanship of the product will not be covered under the warranty.

Consumable parts, such as air, oil or fuel filters, fuel cut off valve, brushes, fuel injection nozzle valve, lubricant, or ignition plug, are not covered under this warranty. All expenses incurred in maintaining and replacing them shall fall on the purchaser. Damage to voltage regulators caused by failure to ground, short or overloading a generator product will not be covered.

This warranty does not extend to failure resulting from incorrect installation and/or damage caused by faulty repairs.

Damage caused by negligent maintenance including but not restricted to:

Failure to provide the specified type and sufficient quantity of lubricating oil, cooling air or coolant.
Failure to perform scheduled maintenance as prescribed in supplied manuals.
Failure to provide adequate air intake and/or maintenance of air intake systems.

Under this Warranty we do not have the obligation to bear any transportation fees of any product to/from Warranty Centre.

Batteries supplied with any generator product should be considered a bonus item and not covered by warranty. Batteries can be damaged by shock, shorting terminals, heat, acid spillage and a number of other factors that cannot be controlled after it has left our facility. It is the customer’s responsibility to take great care when handling items that may contain a battery so no spillage of acid will occur as corrosion or damage caused by battery acid is not covered by warranty.

Disclaimer of Consequential Damage and Limitation of Implied Warranties

We disclaim any responsibility for the loss of time or use of the product, transportation, commercial loss, or any other incidental or consequential damage. Any implied warranties are limited to the duration of the written limited warranty.

Delivery

All products leave our facilities in factory new condition. You are responsible for the transportation from our facilities to your final destination. You may make your own transport arrangements or use a known and reputable company used regularly by Ferreira Bros. Should you decide use one of our regular transporters you agree and understand that such use is at your own risk.

We supply all our new products in factory new condition. We expect them to arrive in the same condition as they left our facilities in. Upon receipt of the order, the purchaser/recipient is required to open the packaging and inspect the shipment thoroughly and completely for damage. All visible damage and/or nonconformity, regardless of its severity, size or significance must be noted on the delivery note by the customer.

Failure by the purchaser/recipient to note any damage, defect or irregularity in the delivery documents shall be construed as a declaration by the purchaser / recipient that the goods were received in good order and condition and free from any defect or non-conformity. If there is significant damage resulting from mishandling of goods by the transporter, the customer is hereby asked to refuse the delivery. Additionally, the customer must notify us, in writing, within 48 hours of receipt of damaged, non-conforming product. In the event of transportation loss or damage, it is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to file for an insurance claim and we will offer all necessary assistance to the purchaser for that purpose. Minor cosmetic damages that do not impact the operation or safety of the unit are expressly excluded under the terms of any return, warranty and/or insurance policy.

Return & Refund Policy

All generator sales are final. Consider a generator purchase as if it was a motor vehicle. The moment it leaves our facility, transport and handling charges are non-refundable.
